If you are to take your writing career seriously, you will eventually need to set up your own website or blog. The reason is that you will need to build yourself a name widely beyond your community; the internet is limitless regarding this matter, and with a website/blog you’ll be able to reach readers across the world, so your books will find proper recognition and your achievements will be well known.
When I started my literary blog www.karina-luz-com, I made sure to upload all my achievements in Literature, so that people would know about me and my accomplishments. And what for? Well after a while, I was invited to a young writers program organized by the Ministry of Culture in Peru. There was room for only eight people from across the country, and they selected me because of my background. But how did they notice me?: my blog. The program lasted a week and I got to know many young writers and beautiful places. I attach some pictures of this event.
I’ve talked about finding your true vocation before; well in this stage, you have already validated your vocation and you’ve already fought to accomplish certain goals like winning writing contests, participating at literary events in your local area and writing at least one book. So, what is next? You will need to shout it to the world, build your website/blog properly using WordPress.org, a hosting service, a unique domain and other specific tools that will lead you to become a role model for your potential readers.
Now, you can do this searching tutorials in YouTube and take the risk of messing it all up, or you can buy a reliable course that will lead you step by step how to build your own professional writer website. What I recommend: Elna Cain’s Writer Website in a Weekend course. Please keep in mind that «it’s essential to be absolutely modern», like french poet Arthur Rimbaud once wrote.
